| Posted in the forum somewhere is a little blurb about a Direct Connect hub for on-campus only. Pun Intended has setup a local UD hub and it's address is 131.238.136.100. | As you can see from the mysql errors Jezebel is currently down. I'm not sure what the problem is as it's running just fine, but it's giving ethernet media errors. I'll be looking more into it tomorrow and it should be up and running by tomorrow afternoon. | | Posted by ecliptik |

| Mark wanted his case back that Charisma was using, so it's no longer running as of 10/27. Not like it mattered that much since I don't think anyone has played on it more than thirty minutes over this semester. My housemates and I are starting to play CS again on the net, so if anyone else has an interest just put it up on the forum. | I have obtained a registered NIC for Charisma and it should be back up online by the weekend. Also post some feedback in the forums about whether or not you want a internet server or LAN only. | A summer public(means you need a valid CD Key) CS server has finally been setup on campus courtesy of Omar's dormant machine. It's running the latest 1.5 release, HLGuard cheat protection, and the popular addon Statsme. Here's the specs:
PIII 800Mhz,
256MB SDRAM,
10MBPS Ethernet connection,
Debian 3.0 GNU/Linux.
I'll be working on stats for it when I get the chance, hopefully it can do HLStats, but if not I'll find an alternative. Also stats will be tracked via WONID.

| This isn't gaming news, but it relates to anyone here over the summer. Every tues and thurs (subject to change) at 6:00PM on the roller hockey court on campus(next to the tennis courts) a group of us play roller hockey for a couple of hours. It's damn fun and you don't need skates or a stick(though bringing both is recommended). | Today I got the new version of Psychostats and set it up on Daemon. I ran through the last 100days(basically this semester), and now you may check out the final results. | I setup Daemon as a JKII server today, and it seems to work just fine. I'm going to have so it alternates between CS and JKII every other day starting tonite, switching around 4AM everyday or so I'll put up a schedule and adapt it to how well it works out. It'll probably just stay DM with bots being in it and a max of around 14/16 players as I don't know how much a Q3 server can hold on the hardware I have, but that can change as well. | I'm sure most of you have heard about Steam and it's relation to CS 1.4, how it's geared toward broadband users(aka us) will automatically update, cheat patching, etc. As of today Steam has their beta release ready and if you sign up by next Tuesday the updates will be concurrent with all of their releases, meaning you will never have to download a CS or HL update again. | PhpBB, which powers the forums, has finally been released to version 2.0. You probaby won't notice anything, but it means that all themes, mods, etc will be standard and allowing for many added features by users. | CSNation reported yesterday that the OGC developers have released their last public release of the OGC hook cheat(The most popular CS Cheat), saying, "We're tired of fixing anti-cheat". Also they have released the source code for OGC, which is sort of a double edged sword. One the anti-cheat people can now have an absolute reference on how OGC works, but on the other end other "hackers" can use it to make other cheats.
